HOT IKEA PRODUCTS

Love it or hate it, IKEA probably changed your life. It certainly changed ours. It ran the show in our college-years apartments, and it still has a place in our homes now that we’re adults (the Kallax shelves... the Antilop highchair!). For all of us, Ikea epitomises everything that Scandinavian design is all about: it’s affordable, it’s highly functional, and it (generally) looks good, in a simple way that works in pretty much any contemporary home.

The man behind the brand was Ingvar Kamprad, who founded the furniture and lifestyle brand on the principle of creating everyday design for everyone. He passed away on 27 January 2018 at the grand old age of 91, having started IKEA at just 17. We’re celebrating the life of this incredible entrepreneur with a round-up of the IKEA products we love. We’ve picked both new items and longtime classics, choosing items that are practical and that have personality to boot.

We love the Fladis seagrass basket as a hold-all for everything from kids’ toys to pesky papers we can’t quite bring ourselves to throw away. There are plenty of options on the market, but Fladis is the most affordable one by far.

    SKARSTA SIT-TO-STAND DESK
