MINIMAL SWIMWEAR

Choosing the right swimwear is a highly personal thing. One woman’s go-to can be another’s ‘avoid at all costs.’ This summer, however, there is a trend afoot for simple, chic and sophisticated styles that are extremely hard not to like. Here, we’ve rounded up four boutique brands who specialise in just such styles. We’ll be following this story with more swimwear soon, plus our edit of everything else you neet to hit the beach in the coming weeks. But, to kick off your holiday shop, we thought a bit of minimal chic was a pretty good place to start.

  • 1. ASCENO LONDON

    Asceno London

Asceno London are a relatively new brand on the scene, making waves in not only swimwear but loungewear and pyjama dressing, too. We love their beach offering for it’s handy mix and match styles and interesting yet chic, graphic prints. Luxurious yet pretty affordable, this is grown up swimwear for women who want something fun but not too frivolous. We are sold.

  • 2. MATTEAU

    Matteau

For those who love Eres, Matteau might just be your new best friend. The brainchild of two New York dwelling, Australia hailing sisters, this brand is all about clean lines, minimal shapes and good, grown up colours. Shop their selection on matchesfashion.com or Matteau Swim for elegant, classic swim styles that never go out of fashion.

  • 3. ON THE ISLAND BY MARIOS SCHWAB

On the Island By Marios Schwab

Known for his bodycon dresses, Marios Schwab has recently launched a range of beachwear in sexy, well fitting yet pared back silhouettes. We love his printed swimsuit and camo bikini. It’s new on net-a-porter and selling out fast, so if you love them too, don’t dally.

  • 4. VIOLET LAKE

    Violet Lake

Founded by fashion editor Ursula Lake, this brand is all about good colours, clean shapes and flattering fits. Each of her tops and bottoms are designed to go together, giving you plenty of flexibility when it comes to finding your ideal look. She also does extremely elegant one pieces. We’re talking well priced, good quality swimwear with a very luxurious feel.
