Enjoying the simple pleasures in life: this is what the Danish concept of hygge is all about. Pronounced ‘hue-gah’, it has long been a part of the Danish way of life, and now it’s catching on globally. It’s no wonder, really: hygge is about friends, family, hot cups of coffee, candlelit meals, cosy touches for your home… and warmth, comfort and good vibes in general.

While hygge isn’t limited to the winter months – outdoor festivals and picnics are, apparently, very ‘hygge’ – it feels very in keeping with the onset of the cooler, autumnal weather.
